Police on Monday shut down the westbound lanes of Loop four hundred ten from Interstate ten to Callaghan Road after a pickup truck caught fire during a four-vehicle crash.
The crash occurred 7:40 a.m. near Babcock Road, when a vehicle smashed into the driver’s side of an SUV being driven by San Antonio resident Sharon Dresser, she said.
“I just twist and turn until I plunge into the guardrail and stop,” she said. “I have no idea why that car just swerved into me.”
Deputies responded to a shooting around three a.m. on July 31, two thousand seventeen where they found an 18-year-old suffering from a gunshot wound.

Two other vehicles were then caught in the crash. One, a black pickup truck, caught fire after the collision. It sat searing in the middle of the highway until firefighters were able to extinguish the blaze a brief time later.
No one was injured in the crash.
Sgt. James Lint said authorities hope to have a few lanes on Loop four hundred ten open before 9:30 a.m., however the investigation into the crash will take much longer.
“Officers are still attempting to determine who did what,” he said.
Authorities also have to make sure the pickup truck that caught fire has cooled down enough so that it doesn’t reignite.
The Texas Department of Transportation was called to the scene to assess the harm done to the guardrail in the crash.
